Today I went out in the rain, just to get the hell out of my apartment. This weekend's been a bit topsy-turvy, to say the least.

Sunday afternoon, I talked to my mom & found out that while my stepdad was released from the hospital on Saturday, he ended up back in there on Sunday spiking a fever & with a knot on his arm in the site of his IV. He ended up being admitted again, with a blood clot in his upper arm, fluid around his lungs, still dealing with impaired kidney function and the IV site being infected. When it rains, it fucking pours, I swear to G*d.

I did go out last night and managed to have a fairly decent time, even if I didn't drink much of anything (just one Amaretto Sour and my share of Cokes). Part of me just wanted to be at home, crying for no reason whatsoever ... but what good would that be?

So, today, I went out & sold some CDs back to a local record shop (got $33 for 'em, which will help a lot this week), then went out for a walk in the rain, listening to Barenaked Ladies - Gordon, crying my eyes out while listening to "Brian Wilson", for no real reason. I guess I did that because it had to be done - or I'd just go nuts.

Now, I just wish it were Thursday night, so I could ask the Guy for one of his hugs, so I could feel wrapped up in the warmth that only those lovely bear-worthy men are good for. :) I'll just try to keep from crying my Maybelline Great Lash off - and onto his clothes.

In the meantime, I'm going to the grocery store to get my bus pass and pick up some hair color at Walgreen's - a girl's gotta keep prettyful, you know. ;)
