Interview With The Insomniac
Jun. 12th, 2003 08:52 pmSorry, no vampiric tendencies here - just a lot of trouble sleeping lately.
I was interviewed by a couple of people, so here are my responses. Of course, if you want to interview me - just say so. :)
These questions were from
moongirli, who asked some really good questions. :)
1) You can be any fictional character - movie, book, tv, whatever. Who and why?
Alex Cross from James Patterson's novels. Why? Because he's got a very cool job - forensic psychologist. Something I'd like to do when I grow up - perhaps in the next lifetime.
2) Make up a law.
No wearing black socks with sandals. Ever.
3) You find that, overnight, you have acquired the ability to make people do whatever you say. Do you use this power for good or for evil? How or why?
At first, I'd probably use it for good - to get people to be decent towards each other and getting my Utopian ya-yas out. Then I'd probably risk becoming flush with that power ... and using it for evil. Why? Because I've fancied the idea of having minions to do my evil bidding....
4) What is the one thing you will never do, not for any amount of money or promise of favours, sexual or otherwise?
Ooooh ... this is a really good one. I'd never kill another person. Guess that means I don't have a future as a hired gun anytime soon.
5) What is the funniest thing you've ever heard?
Probably the "Fake Depeche Mode Song" on Fake Songs. All of the Fake Songs are good, but the Depeche Mode song really does it to me. Perhaps it's lyrics like "If I'm happy would you punish me? Tie me up and call it therapy?" and "Let me be your perfect scratching post - your Father, Son and the Holy Ghost". That and the fact that I've liked Depeche Mode since the first time I heard "People Are People" - when I was about 11. :)
Now, onto more questions ...
These are from
sigmaration - you know her as Kellie, I know her as my girlfriend. :)
1) If you could blink your eyes like I Dream of Jeannie and make one thing appear/disappear/happen instantly, what would it be and why?
I'd make Britney Spears and Avril Lavigne disappear. Why? Because for every fan they have, there are ten people that wish they'd just "...fade away".
2) What is the ideal vacation for you?
Any where I can get away from the office, visit a new town or country and coexist among the natives for a few days or week. (I'm not keen on tourists, so I don't like playing tourist that much.)
3) If you could move anywhere in the world, and money/job was not an issue, where would you go and why?
Australia. Why? Because from what I've seen, it's just gorgeous there. I could get into weekends spent surfing or boogie-boarding, and the decent weather.
4) You have been granted a private, one on one interview with Steve Page. What do you ask/tell him, and why?
I'm such an idiot - I agonized over this one as though interviewing Steve would really happen. I'd probably get the silly fangirl formalities out of the way and tell him that BNL's music has been with me through a lot of different things.
Then I'd get to the questions:
"If you were asked to be part of the next Leonard Cohen tribute CD, what song would you sing, and why?"
And, "If there were a Barenaked Ladies tribute CD to be released, what musicians would you want to hear performing your songs?"
{I'd be too nervous to blurt out: Nevermind Marilyn Manson. You, my friend, are the God of Fuck. Besides, he'd probably get pissed if I said that ... hehe}
5) What is your favorite smell?
The smell of bread or cinnamon rolls baking. That and laundry just out of the dryer.
