The perfect shirt for Pride this summer: A real girl's girl

For the Geek in all of us ... oh - so it's just me

Otherwise ... I went to the Levi's store after work, and felt like I was left to my own devices when it came to finding jeans. Thankfully I was actually in the mood to look around, rather than give up when I saw that the sizes only went up to 16 in most of the jeans. (To put it simply - I felt almost snubbed, until I was ready to pay for my purchase.)

So yay to Levi's for having Junior Plus (up to size 23, it appeared) and Misses Plus (up to about 24) in a few styles of jeans - on sale, no less! But boo on them for the sales people essentially ignoring me. Yes, I took a comment card home with me, and expressed the aforementioned opinion/frustration.

That's about it for clothing adventures. Nothing too exciting to tell - which is probably a good thing.

The Levi's store here is too cool for me, too. They ignore me, act snottily at me, and make snorty noises when I ask for a size 10 ...

So don't take it personally.

They cater to the wee little 12 year olds, I think. Grr. We should have more consumer power than a child, right?

Indeed! That's why I filled out the card and let them know that not everyone shopping in their stores is a Size 2!

It may not get anything more than a patronizing "there there" from an assistant to the assistant of some muckety-muck ... but at least it gets the point out there! :-)

'scuse me while the state of what we term "customer service" makes me barf!

Okay, lets talk clothing adventures...I went with my Daughter to Anchor Blue over Xmas break...she was there spending some money from her Grandparents...we walked up to the counter to pay and the two girls behind the register never turned their heads a centimeter in our direction, just kept chatting on and on...it really bothered me, then a few moments later another girl approached, slid into their conversation and WITHOUT even looking at me held her arm out in my direction for the items we wished to buy.

What EV er....I didn't hand her anything until she stopped talking and looked at me, acknowledging my presence as a Human Being...I found the whole thing rather irritating.

Amanda on the other hand wanted to fall through the floor and all but hearded me out of the store cause she could tell a massive "scene-type" complaint was coming on.

I really don't like being treated like that, and I often wonder about customer service...has it just degenerated that far beyond recognition??

I never usually get fast food, but I did get Burger King breakfast with the kids this past weekend....and when I asked how many hashbrowns in the large side order the girl behind the speaker was dumbfounded...I would think this is something she can guess at relatively easily, but she refused to even venture it....in a word: Retarded!

no, wait...that's an insult to the verifiably mentally impaired....!

Heh - no kidding!

It bothers me that they're making assumptions on appearance alone. Who's to say that I'm not going to that store to find pants for my sister or looking for something to get a friend?

We might not look like the ideal demographic for the store ... but if we're ready to spend a few hundred dollars, they'll perk up like crazy!

As for some of the people working at the restaurants & stores - I think the big problem is apathy. Feeling like "this is only temporary ... until a job opens up at XYZ" or "...until I make Management."

In the meantime, Customer Service will feel like a nightmare because of many reasons that could start me on a never-ending diatribe!
