I love pets - but this time, they've really got my allergies up. :(

Allegra doesn't do a thing for pet dander allergies ... and I can't find my eye drops. So I think I'll bitch and grumble at the doctor about it when I go into see him. Only fair after I got bitched & grumbled at for my Effexor issues. (Okay, maybe not ... heh)

In the meantime, I'll just suffer through allergic reactions in the name of being such an animal lover.

Have you tried Claritin? It's the only thing that works for my allergies. And it's over the counter now, so it might be worth it to pick up a box of 5 tablets and try it. (Look for the coupons - they usually have tons of 'em near the display where the meds are.)

I'm allergic to . . . well . . . EVERYTHING!!! Mold, mildew, pollen, dust, pet dander, and a million other things and I've got a house full of dust and two cats (and of course with it being Spring 'nuff said about the friggin pollen). I've found that Zyrtec is just AMAZING and only makes my throat a bit dry (so I end up drinking a lot of water which is better for me anyways!!). I also think that Tylenol Allergy Sinus Max Strength works REALLY REALLY well for an over the counter med. Might want to give them a try!

Wow, I hear you on the Allegra. I think my biggest allergy is pet dander, and of course with 2 cats, that makes life miserable for me unless I have medication. So...we tried Allegra. Did absolutely nothing. Now I use Zyrtec (God of Allergy Medicine) and Nasacort AQ daily, and I'm pretty much perfectly OK where allergies are concerned.

I was going to ask if you had tried Zyrtek too... based soley on the commercials saying it is good for pet allergies.

And having really cute pets in the commercials.


I swear, I am a sucker for any product that uses cute animals in their ads.
