Goth Oranges and Bedtime Stories
While those swell Mandarin Oranges did rock my socks, blood oranges own me.
They are sticky, sublime and fun at the same time. Stick a slice of a blood orange in your mouth and suck on it ... and you get a nice red tongue, just like you would from a cherry popsicle. They're not as seedy as those Mandarins, and they're just damn fun to eat. So I may end up making a perfectly useless run to the grocery store to get more of them. (When buying them, it seems that the redder the rind is, the better they taste. But don't expect them to taste like a sweet orange - the taste is more subtle and almost tangy.)
Yes, I admit that I've been a bad girl this evening with the food. Last night, I could somehow get through feeling physically insatiable ... but tonight was another story. Not that I went completely bezerkers or anything ... heh. But, I could've been better.
Although I refuse to flog myself over this. I'm human, and allowed to have my weaknesses. Besides, I'm still learning - and if I'd gotten it perfectly in my first week of honestly trying, I'd worry.
Anyways, when I haven't been noshing throughout the night, I've been reading aloud to myself from a few of my favorite erotica anthologies - Zaftig - Well-Rounded Erotica, Best Bisexual Erotica V.2 and the latest Best American Erotica. (Yes, I want to be Scheherazade when I grow up ... okay, maybe without the fear of execution hanging over my pretty little head.) It sounds silly, but it's something that I do with my own writing - reading it out loud, to get a feel for the timing and how it may sound to someone else that's reading it. So, yeah, one of my quirks is actually good for something. ;)
Now, I'm going to get back to reading the live journals and being a general muckracker. Have a good night everyone!

Blood oranges are great... they make an excellent sauce for things like salmon or broiled chicken, too.
Good for you on not beating yourself up... I know it's the behaviour that you are trying to change, but even just making a choice to snack on oranges instead of other, less healthy stuff, is a step in the right direction.
love you!
