First, Happy Father's Day to all of the dads on my list! :-)


Now, onto everything else - I was supposed to get my hair colored today (it would've been a great distraction from the fact that this is a bittersweet day for me, and I'm sure some others on my list); but, my colorist had a kidney stone attack, and is spending today hopped up on painkillers. So, there went that.

Instead, Kellie and I went for brunch, and an afternoon of shopping. That provided a good bit of distraction - even if I was grumpy as hell in the morning. Later in the day, we'd gone to the Haight (full of tourists, since it is Tourist Season) - because Kellie got into the salon she gets her hair cut at for an "emergency color", since she's going out of town later this week.

So, I got to wander around and check out the shops. One of my favorite purchases was this bag:




The only difference is that my bag is black, purple and white!


I wanted to get these shoes, but I was unable to try on the half-size down, to make sure that I'd have a proper fit. I'll check Macy's, to see if they have the half-size I would want. Still, they're really cute:





Now, we're home, and I'm doing laundry - can't go to work naked!

OH OH OH. I love that bag. LOVE it. I'm a bag whore, I can never have enough.

And today was bittersweet for me, too. I had to work at my part-time job today, so that helped distract me at least.

Thank you! I got it from Yak Pak (http://www.yakpak.com). They had another pattern (multi-colored capsules - which was kind of "Valley of the Dolls"!), but not in that style of bag.

Distractions are good. I know that it'll get better - and easier - in the meantime, it still sucks.

hey! totally off topic...what do you have planned for Wed late afternoon/early eve? I don't know what time you get off work, but I was thinking to gather my squabs and do some crafting at a friend's house for a bit later in the night. Maybe we could grab that elusive pizza in the Castro before I head to my friend's house? I don't how many kids I will have, could be only my toddler...you never know how interested the teens will be in anything.

If you can't then that's totally okay too, I know it was short notice.

That sounds like fun! I usually work until about 5:30 (I'm downtown - about 15 min by bus/train from the Castro), so we could definitely go out for pizza! :-)
