I've been thinking about something. I've gotten two piercings, yet from time to time, I find myself wanting to get another one. Usually, I think about getting my 2d and 3d holes re-done, or perhaps getting a helix (upper ear cartilage) piercing. The eyebrow piercing is enough facial piercing for me!

People say that tattoos can be addictive - but I've never heard anyone say that of piercing. Maybe it's just that for me, the pain is a "good pain". I risk looking like I've traded in the cutting/scratching for another form of S/I - one that's more "acceptable".

I don't think that personally, but I do know that it's possible that others around me may look at it that way.

Oh yeah - I agree with you on that. I'm not going for anything freaky or "out there". Honestly, I'm sticking with just getting my ears all full of holes. (Okay, not too many, but you probably get the idea)

Besides, I saw someone at Hot Topic that had her eyebrows pierced to where it looked like in lieu of eyebrows, she just had the piercings. I was too distracted by that to even notice if she had anything else done! So, yeah ... none of that for me.

That just sounds freaky to me. I am not saying this individual didn't actually like their piercings, but sometimes people do things simply for the shock value and I HATE that. I have a friend whom I love dearly, but she will do things just because she thinks people will say "can you believe she did that???" Weird piercings seem to sometimes fall in that category.

Definitely. It seems that way to me, too. Some of the piercings are fascinating, and some are just skeery as hell, leaving me wondering WTF was that person thinking?

I will admit that a very, very small part of my piercings involves thumbing my nose at my family and my upbringing. A nice, relatively safe, trippy "fuck you" directed at the Mormon faith.
