Today was a very good day

Got a lot of things done today. A lot of rather mundane stuff: bought some fabric so Kellie could make the Sigmas for a sorority t-shirt (she and I are Tri-Sigmas). I picked up some of my meds and a bus pass. Then, we went to the mall in another futile attempt at finding a semi-formal/formal dress for the sorority Convention. Just another day, really.

Except for the trip to Body Manipulations to see my piercer, Eldo. Today, I got my eyebrow pierced. I really like it, if I say so myself. :-) Also, he was nice enough to give me a bit of a discount on the piercing and the jewelry.

So, here are the pictures of my newest piercing:

Look mom! Commence freak-out NOW!

Don't mind the purple ... that's just the surgical marker

Up-close and personal ... in glasses

Yep, it'll make my mom totally flip her lid - but I'm an adult and I'm doing this because I want to do it. Although, pissing her off in the meantime is kinda fun. *eg*

When Kellie asked me about the pain, and I responded that the pain was a good kind of pain, she said that my getting pierced is far better than if I were cutting myself. It sounds weird, but makes sense - especially since I'd cut myself for several years, so it makes sense to me (Okay, so it was more like "scratching the hell out of myself" but still).

This was the story about my prior piercing: My Tragus ... and other good stuff Kellie wasn't there for that one, so she was a bit upset with me for having my piercing cherry popped without her. Today more than made up for it.

Now, I think I'm going to relax - my head hurts (as one can imagine) and I just want to be a lazy slacker tonight!

It's cute!

I wish some employers weren't so narrow minded because I kind of want to get my lip pierced (left bottom). As it is I think my nostril freaks people out. :(

Thank you!

Yeah - a lot of places are *really* conservative. My hope is that I can get away with this ... I don't think it'll be too much trouble, especially since my hair has been bright orange, and now the deep red (which has faded to a reddish-pinkish-auburn hodge podge)!

I'd love to get my nose pierced, but there are a couple of drawbacks ... first, Kellie has her nose pierced, and second - the allergies from hell aren't exactly piercing-friendly!

Maybe if you get the opposite nostril as Kellie? :)

I love my nose piercing! I wish I had gotten it eons ago instead of 2 years ago, but yeah. Totally doesn't help in the runny nose department. :/

That's not too bad then! I guess I'd always worried about risking ripping out the piercing because of sinus infections and all!

Who knows ... I may end up doing that. Currently, I'm thinking of letting existing piercings heal ... and maybe getting a couple more ear piercings.

Your new piercing looks great!!

I get what you're saying about the nose piercing below... if I didn't have super oily skin and super allergies, I think I'd totally have a nose piercing by now! I'd think nose would hurt less than eyebrow (you're so brave, methinks ;-)) but I wouldn't really know. I got my ears pierced a good 23 years ago, so I'm not a good judge of piercing pain.

Let me spam you with pics of other hot piercings you can get:

The lip-area ones aren't exactly conservative work-safe, though. ;-) I like the idea of a center lip ring, though. If only oral piercings didn't contribute to dental problems down the road! :-P

Exactly! If I had a lip or tongue piercing, my dentist would kill me!

I don't know about the difference - but I do know that the eyebrow wasn't as bad as my tragus. Probably because the needle wasn't going through cartilage.

i think the piercing looks great on you. :D

Thank you dear! :)

The piercing looks fabulous!! I love it.

I am hoping to get a new piercing this very week myself.

Thank you! What are you hoping to get done, and if you don't mind my asking - what do you currently have done?

The Le Bret...or however the hell you spell it. I have my ears pierced 4 times each and my belly button pierced, but I don't wear jewellry in any of them right now.

Labrets are quite sexy, I think. :-)
(Kirk Hammett of Metallica looks especially hot with his labret ... and the occasional black guyliner.)

I will send you a photo for sure.

Kirk Hammett is super sexy!!! Of course, in his band it isn't that hard to look like the sexiest one there! ;-)

[identity profile] hiddenmuse.livejournal.com 2007-04-30 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
Yay for pictures!

With Metallica ... let's see, there's the drummer with the Napoleon Complex; the lead singer who looks like he could beat the shit out of everyone; and the revolving door that is the bassist position in the band. And then, the gorgeous filipino/mexican Kirk Hammett ... incidentally, he lives in San Francisco, but I've never seen him around town!

[identity profile] gardengnomegeek.livejournal.com 2007-04-30 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
Yup, you summed up Metallica very well. I love 'em, but Lars freakin' drives me NUTS.

Wow, it must be nice to live in a city where famous people live. We have politicians and our hockey team and Alanis is from here...that is about it.

Speaking of which, sort of, how far are you from Sunnyvale??? I am pretty sure it is close to SF.

[identity profile] hiddenmuse.livejournal.com 2007-04-30 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
If I'm not mistaken, Sunnyvale is almost an hour from where I live ... it's in the San Jose/Santa Clara part of the south bay.
