Stupid rhetorical question of the week

Sometimes, the strangest thoughts pop into my head.

This week, I've been trying to figure this one out: Once upon a time, Dave Mustaine (Megadeth) was in Metallica, but was kicked out because of a drug problem. My question is this: how many drugs are *too many* drugs to a band that was once nicknamed "Alcoholica"?

That's all.

I finally saw La Mala Educacion... BRILLIANT! Almodovar is now my favorite Spanish director!

GOOD POINT.

According to my bible, Bang Your Head - The Rise And Fall Of Heavy Metal, Mustaine's drinking was not really an issue. The acrimonious breakup was due to the fact that he and Hetfield couldn't be in the same room together for very long, as their egos tended to not have enough space.

And I don't think science has come up with a number large enough to describe the ego that is Lars.

What I'd heard, from Behind the Music and SKOM and other sources, was that Dave, unlike the others, tended to be a belligerent, violent drunk. I mean, he broke Phil Sandovar's leg at a party....

Dave Mustaine has always come across as quite wounded whenever I've seen him interviewed on the subject in the past, whereas the other members of the band seem to have absolutely no regrets.....I guess that's just life in the big city?

you know, I always did wonder why the Beatles broke up?? I remember being sad as a kid when I heard about it...one of my brother's told me it was over "creative differences" and I think I responded, "but whyyyyyy?" in typical kid fashion!
