It's been one week...

(and don't even start on me, fellow BNL fans!)

Yep, one week since being "Partnerized" or "Gay Married" as we're calling it.

It doesn't feel any different, which is probably a good thing. It just feels like something familiar - as though it's been a part of my life for a long time.

We celebrated over the prior weekend, which was a lot of fun. Saturday night was the farewell dinner for one of my co-workers, as well as celebrating the paper-signing. Sunday, we'd gone to brunch at a little French restaurant (Metro Cafe) near our place, then later that night, we went to La Fondue and ended up eating until we almost felt like we could've been rolled out.

Yesterday, it was the "ring exchange". Well, okay, so I had my ring, and Kellie's had to be returned because it was too big! Still, we celebrated with mini-cakes from Citizen Cake - and I will have cupcakes for the time that her ring comes in! And here is the ring:

It's quite pretty, if I say so myself. :-)

And that, my lovelies, is how I'd spent the first week as a "married lady".

(no subject)

I'm a sick little puppy ... I'm one of those people that kinda likes snarkiness.

So, when I saw [livejournal.com profile] baby_names in the LJ Spotlight, I had to join. If you take a look at Baby's named a bad, bad thing - you'll see why I couldn't pass up this trainwreck of a community.

Even though I don't plan to have kids - and obviously can't - I like to get reminders of how people can be nearly psychotic when naming their kids ... or just deciding on the names for those munchkins.

Currently, it's enough to make my head spin. Naming your kid after a video game character? Almost as bad as the woman that wanted to name her son "Bish" (short for "Bishonen").

So, yeah ... it's good for a laugh or two, it seems. :-)
