(no subject)

I'm a total Reality TV addict. "Big Brother"; "Survivor"; "Amazing Race"; "American Idol" ... it's my crack.

I know, I should be all mature and above reality TV (whatever), but goddammit ... I *love* the cheesiness of the shows.

Sometimes, it's fun to just shut my brain down and have some dumb fun for an hour or so.

Anyone else?

{and the icon is true ... I made cookies tonight. chocolate chip.}

I love reality tv too. I haven't watched the new Big Brother, is it worth it?

I also missed the last Survivor - I just had too many shows to keep up.

Plus, I LOVE chocolate chip cookies!

I want the t-shirt that spawned that icon. And I also want cookies. ;)

I was a Survivor junkie the first two seasons, but I haven't watched it since except for the All-Star edition. I also used to be a big Amazing Race fan, but again, I don't bother anymore.

As for Idol, I'm always at work when it's on (the latest season of Canadian Idol is on now) so I can't watch it anyway.

So yeah, I'm not a reality show fan anymore. I actually watch very little TV outside of the music channels.

Oh yes - when the season starts with one contestant (Joe) talking about how he got the clap from his ex-boyfriend and fellow contestant (Dustin) ... it makes for some good drama! And did I mention Kail, the homophobic Bible-smacker?

Try to watch it if you can - especially since the ex-pro football player *might* be gay. Drama at its finest! :-)

I didn't catch onto Survivor until a few seasons in - same for Big Brother and Amazing Race.

Some of the shows are pretty good, but some just become so lame and formulaic - and aren't worth watching.

the only way i'd stop loving you is if you watched that stupid pirate show.

but on a serious note, why did 'the mole' get canned? I LOVE 'THE MOLE'!

[identity profile] hiddenmuse.livejournal.com 2007-07-18 02:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh lordy ... I'd never watch that lame pirate show. Even I have standards from time to time. ;-)

I don't know why "The Mole" got cancelled. Maybe they couldn't handle the awesomeness that is Anderson Cooper?

Hee hee... Me, too. It started with Project Runway, and then Top Chef (which I didn't watch season one straight off, but caught in reruns and was hooked), and also (to my terrible shame) America's Next Top Model.

[If anyone asks, it's because hearing the Brooklyn chick from Cycle 7 wax poetic about her 'anti-fur' pictures is too funny... Some of those girls are seriously lacking in brains. And it's hilarious. Yeah, that's the reason, yeah...]

I'm a "Trading Spouses" addict. I used to have a thing for "Wife Swap" but the structure got tedious after a while.

I've only missed one season of "Survivor" so far, and I didn't technically miss it--it was on while I was working on the computer that season; I just wasn't paying attention to more than bits and pieces of it. (In my defense, it was that snoozer Thailand season.)

I also <3 "Gene Simmons Family Jewels."

As a rule of thumb, I hate reality TV.

...But I'm obsessed with Hell's Kitchen

[identity profile] pseudoswede.livejournal.com 2007-07-18 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I soooooo want to be on 'The Amazing Race'.

[identity profile] season.livejournal.com 2007-07-18 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
i love big brother because they always pick these stereotypical freaks who are nuts. and its fun to watch them all grind on each other's nerves. i also love the amazing race. and lets not forget dancing with the stars. i am horrible. but i don't care. its what makes me.. me!

[identity profile] rosesandvine.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
mmm. American Idol, My Life on the D-List, and Dancing with the Stars are my mainline drugs. When I need a little something, it's So You Think You Can Dance or The Bachelor.

I know! Project Runway is awesome - I'm kinda bummed that Jay's clothing collection has been delayed so much. :-(

Top Chef is hilarious at times - Hung is a pretentious ass, just like his BFF, Marcel. And it's just funny to see them being all bitchy and snarky at each other.

[identity profile] hiddenmuse.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
I never saw "Trading Spouses" - I may have to check that out sometime.

Survivor is pretty good, but on some occasions, it can be kind of lame and drag-gy.

[identity profile] hiddenmuse.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
You and me both! "Hell's Kitchen" is so crazy and sometimes makes me cringe - but damn, I can't help but tune in every week!

[identity profile] hiddenmuse.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
Kellie wants to be on "The Amazing Race", too! Unfortunately, I would be more of a liability than an asset, so she'd probably do the game with a friend of ours.

[identity profile] hiddenmuse.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
"Big Brother" is serious reality TV crack. The whole idea of throwing everyone into a snow globe, shaking it up, and filming it- insane and brilliant at the same time!

[identity profile] hiddenmuse.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
Oh yeah, we've been getting lured into the drug that is "So You Think You Can Dance" ... I love Sabra, she's so pretty. And Lacey is awesome - I think she looks a bit like Ashlee Simpson in her earlier, punky days (only difference is that Lacey has a personality)!

[identity profile] moongirli.livejournal.com 2007-07-20 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, me, too. (About Jay)

I love me some Jay. And his stuff is stuff I would (theoretically) wear, given ample size and cashflow. Same with Season 3's Jeffery - I loved his stuff! Season 2's Chloe... UGH!

And, oh, absolutely, re: Hung & Marcel. Tee hee hee!
