With my prior job, I was the receptionist at the office for almost 5 years, before starting to burn out - and I somehow managed to talk the muckety-mucks into letting me get my insurance license. I worked there for almost 2 years after that - before moving to California. Currently, I've been in the field for about 5 years now.

I'm a Personal Lines agent - I work with existing clients, making sure that their policies are up-to-date, making changes, writing new policies when needed. Basically, keeping my clients happy. If you like working with people, and don't mind the occasional client coming around to bitch at you over something positively asinine, it's good work.
