(no subject)

I am now a Prada whore, it's official.
Today, I bought new glasses at LensCrafters - and while they weren't done in a hour, they were done by my lunch hour. This is far better than the 2 weeks that I've waited in the past for new glasses.

Anyways, I have swell blue Prada frames (smokey blue, as Kellie would describe them), and they came with a very nice embossed black Prada eyeglass case, that also included a cleaning cloth (and yes, it is also Prada-embossed).

I feel almost chichi or something. If only my hair would behave today, I'd really feel and look damn pretty. *grumbles about washing hair with Lush's Happy For S.A.D. post-Yoga last night*

Ah well. At least my glasses are pretty, spiffy and new! :-)

I have always wanted a Prada bag....my friend told me about this thing called "classy bag ladies" where they come to your house and have a "purse party" and you order knock offs....I wonder how I feeeel about that?? can anyone really tell the difference do you think? And if I got the Real Deal would I feel guilty spending so very much?? people are starving in Africa. A purse is not something you use every day like glasses...purses are much more superficial...cosmetic....I dunno, I think about it sometimes though!

By the way...I absolutely adore the Muppet Show still as an adult. I think my favorite was always Beaker. And sometimes we like to go around our house (the kids and I) pretending to talk like Swedish Chef! I will always always feel sad that Jim Henson did not take good enough care of himself, was basically consumed by his drive to work, and died well before his "time"....

Well, with the fake purses - I have a Kate Spade bag that I'd bought at a garage sale for $10, and it may be a fake. To be honest, I really can't tell any difference between my Kate Spade and the real thing - and no one has called me out on it yet.

As for fake Prada bags - their best-known bag, in my estimation, is a bag that's made from "parachute material" (I have no other way to describe it). Because it's a real Prada, they can charge several hundred dollars for it. If someone offered me the exact same thing - as a fake - for $50, I'd probably buy it, because you can't tell the difference, unless someone so anal-retentive or so snobbish that they'd judge people on whether my Prada bag is real or not!

And I still have a soft spot for the Muppet Show and Sesame Street. Swedish Chef, Bunsen and Beaker, and the two guys in the Balcony (whose names I always forget) are always my favorite characters. :) And with Beaker, I have a t-shirt that shows him on it and says "No Beakers were harmed in the making of this t-shirt"
